Christ Church, Ireland's oldest medieval church, built in the viking settlement part of the city. Has the body of "Strong Bow" one of the first "English" peoples to come over and colonize Ireland.
Trinity College, one of the oldest colleges of the English speaking world, up there with Cambridge and Oxford. Inside is the book of Kells, the oldest survivng manuscript of western monk writings.
Perhaps a bit hard to make out in this photo, but the oldest harp in Ireland, mistakenly accredited to the last king. Its the symbol of Ireland and its image can be found on the back of all euros minted in Ireland as well as the symbol used on Guinness.
The largest 1 room library at Trinity College. The college is a copyright library which means anytime a book is published in England or Ireland, this library gets a copy, so it has well over million books, problem is most of them are outdated, in latin, or arranged according to the dimensions of the book rather than by title or author or subject.
Statue of Oscar Wild, referred to by the Irish as "The fag on the crag" or "the cock on the rock" Alot of the otur guides have been making great use of irish humor. My favorite joke i can remember is the one tour guide referred ot the natural history musuem as "the dead zoo"
